Clairsentience: Feeling as an intuitive sense.
Clairsentience Oracle card from Jamie Roth’s Oracle Deck; Mind, Body and Spirit.
What is clairsentience?
Clairsentience is the art of feeling to know. It is the intuitive gift of clear sensing, where understanding arises not from what we see or hear, but from what we feel, deeply and often inexplicably, within..
Unlike the loud declarations of the mind, clairsentience speaks through the body and emotion. A flutter in the chest. A sudden chill on the skin. A tightening in the gut or an inexplicable wave of warmth. These are not just physical responses, but subtle messages, energetic impressions arriving through the body’s innate wisdom. They often come before the conscious mind can interpret or even notice them—truth moving faster than thought.
To experience clairsentience is to be open to emotion, energy, and atmosphere. You might walk into a room and feel an unspoken tension that wasn’t yours, or meet someone new and instantly sense the weight they carry beneath their smile. It is the ability to feel what is not spoken, to gather information from the unseen fields that surround us, and to translate that into knowing.
This intuitive sense is not always comfortable. Those who experience/work with clairsentience can be overwhelmed by feeling so deeply. But within this sensitivity is the capacity to tune into the emotional and energetic landscape of others with precision and compassion. In healing,It allows the practitioner to sense shifts in energy, to detect emotional blocks, and to hold space with a presence that feels deeply seen and understood.
Signs of being Clairsentient
Cultivating clairsentience is a return to the body. It asks us to slow down, to listen not just to thoughts but to the quiet pulses of sensation. It invites us to trust the information that arrives without explanation, to honor feelings as valid and wise. The more we listen, the more we learn to decipher what is ours and what belongs to the collective. And in that discernment, clairsentience becomes not just a way of sensing, but a path of clarity and alignment.
At its heart, clairsentience is an invitation—to feel, to trust, and to move through the world with an open body and a clear heart. It is a sacred remembering of what the body has always known: that we are not separate from each other, nor from the energies that flow around and through us. We are always in conversation, always receiving. And when we learn to listen through the senses, we discover a world rich with meaning, guidance, and connection.
How Clairsentience Shows Up:
You feel emotions that seem to come out of nowhere (and later realize they belong to someone else).
You get a “gut feeling” that proves accurate.
You feel tingling, chills, or warmth when truth is being spoken.
You physically feel someone else’s pain, grief, or joy.
You sense energy shifts in people, rooms, or even online spaces.
You feel drawn or repelled by someone without knowing why.
Enhancing your clairsentience
How to Practice and Strengthen Clairsentience:
1. Tune Into Your Body Daily
Clairsentience speaks through the body. Pause during your day and ask, “What am I feeling right now?” Note any tension, tingling, lightness, heaviness, or emotion without judging it.
2. Name the Feeling, Then Ask if It’s Yours
Sometimes clairsentients pick up others’ emotions and confuse them for their own. Try this: “Is this mine?” If it lifts or shifts, it probably isn’t.
3. Work with Your Chakras (especially Solar Plexus + Heart)
The solar plexus (gut instinct) and heart (empathy) are where a lot of clairsentient information comes through. Place your hand there, breathe into it, and invite intuitive sensations to arise.
4. Feel Into Objects or Places
Hold an object (psychometry-style) or enter a room and notice what you feel emotionally and physically. Does it feel warm? Heavy? Peaceful? This is great practice for refining sensitivity.
The more you honor your subtle feelings, the more clearly clairscentience will speak to you. Trust that your inner knowing is already guiding you—softly, quietly, and always with love.
