Emerging from the Darkness: A Call to Sovereignty and Unity
Jamie Roth, spiritual healer.
Right now in the spiritual community, I see a lot of commentary about rising above, and don't feed the fear and division. Vibe high, because you don't have to be a part of this.
While I understand the sentiment, and don't entirely disagree, my superpowers as an Intuitive Healer and spiritual mentor are that I live the human experience as deeply as I can. I drop all the way into feeling in the most human way I possibly can - mind, body and spirit. (Body is the hardest for me. But I'm excellent with emotions).
In that space I get to visit my own shadows, fears, my own perceptions and judgements. I am a full feeling person and that only deepens my experience as a spirit living the human experience, and as a guide to others in their human experience.
I also have the superpower of feeling what other people feel, and understanding a multitude of perspectives. I take nothing at face value. So also in that space I work with viewing up close, as well as from a birds eye view, the many facets of the experience from as many people's experience/perspective as I can.
I do not spiritual bypass, I embody the experience. Once I have felt it as deeply as I can in my body and emotions, and listened to all the thoughts; only then do I begin to alchemize and transmute to the higher vibrations and have the ability to shine that light to others.
I FEEL IT TO HEAL IT.
The last week plus, I have been deep in the human experience, while simultaneously receiving a lot of spiritual guidance. I allowed myself (because that is my process), to get swallowed whole by the election results and it's been devastating on many levels to revisit my fears as a woman and not being safe; and the betrayal wound of giving someone that has been held liable of sexual assault, the honor of being the president. This has sent the resounding message to woman and men that it is in fact, okay to assault/rape because you can still be given the highest ranking of honor in our country. I’m horrified by this for myself as a victim of sexual assault, along with all of the women I know (which I don’t know any woman that has not experienced some level of sexual assault).
I was astounded by how many women voted for this person based on the deep misogynistic views that Trump has made well known; along with being liable for sexual assaults, and 20 other claims of assault and rape, including a 10 year old.
And yet, I get it.
Many women remain tied to their abusers, whether that be a spouse, a religion, or even their country. Even those who have escaped may not be far enough removed to fully break free. For them, it’s not a stretch to draw such a line-it’s the reality they know. And abuse victims must work within the system they are in to maintain any semblance of safety.
So what does this mean? Well, our governmental systems are systems of oppression that are meant to keep us sick and isolated because being sick makes a lot of money for the 1%, along with being isolated keeps us disempowered. Our food is poisoned on every level, our medical model is based on covering up symptoms vs. actual healing. Holistic healthcare is not covered by insurance therefore, inaccessible to most. Mental Illness is caused by many things, genetics, trauma and also having to live in systems that do not support the whole, healthy person. The capitalist system of the United States is one that keeps us in a perpetual state of living to work, while still most cannot afford basic necessities, often while working multiple jobs, and trying to raise a family. We’ve become so incredibly distant from any type of tribal living in which we help each other live life through community support. Instead people feel alone, afraid, and completely burnt out. This is an abusive system we live in.
Religion for many people can be a place of community, solace and healing. As well as it is often a place of patriarchal control, oppression of the feminine, and intense guilt, shame and fear. It is a place in which you are told what to think and how to act, because personal sovereignty and trusting yourself- your inner guidance, will lead to breaking out of the system. There is also a lot of sexual abuse happening within churches that is either accepted and/or covered up. So excusing the president of such heinous acts is not usual. Not all religions, or religious people are bad, just like not all spiritual people are good. There is detrimental toxicity in both. The key is to ask yourself- am I a sovereign being in this culture/system? Can I be fully my most authentic self and accepted, even beloved as such? If the answer is no, (or you desperately have to try to tweak your answer to make it sound like a ‘no’), then you are in a controlled and oppressive environment.
Women often end up in abusive marriages based on their upbringing in oppressive and very often religious homes. If you grew up in an patriarchal, oppressive system in which the man leads and can do no wrong, and you as the woman have to remain loyal no matter what- then you will marry that indoctrination and continue that on through your children. Abuse comes in many forms- mental, emotional, spiritual, sexual and financial. A lot of women feel they are not abused because they don’t get hit. Physical is only one aspect of abuse, that isn’t always present. Mind control, financial control, forced sex are just some of the ways a woman can be abused. For many women, this dynamic might be a reflection of systemic pressures, fear of consequences, or internalized beliefs about their role in society.
In societies influenced by patriarchal norms, excusing or justifying harmful behavior, including acts by people in positions of power, can sometimes be a learned or adaptive response. This often stems from cultural conditioning, social expectations, or a sense of dependency on authority figures.
As I explored the online communities during this time, I have seen some narratives thrown around such as:
"This is not my lesson to learn."
While my instant thought to that is: Yes! Exactly! Because my lesson is not about living under the weight of Christian Nationalist patriarchy rhetoric—I have spent my life living far outside the confines of religious dogma and societal constraints. I know that my sovereignty lies within myself, not from any entity telling me how to live, or what to do.
And yet it is also my lesson.
Because I have worked with women getting away from abusive marriages, and deconstructing from religion for over 20 years. So I do have to know that space. I know their fear deeply because it is indoctrinated from day one. So I've been holding that facet gently, turning it round and round with the experience I have of helping free women from abusive situations.
It is also my lesson because I am a part of co-creation in this reality. So I have to question myself about where I feel chained to something, or someone or some ideology? I have to decide if I am indeed free and safe and protected regardless of what decisions others make. On the human level that is not easy to answer. From a spiritual perspective I know I am safe.
One thing I’ve long since known about myself is that I am not so "high vibe" that I don't draw hard lines. And my hard lines are that everyone deserves equality and safety and the blessings that Mother Earth provides to EVERYONE. We are all provided all that we need, it is only humans that have taken it upon themselves to think they are so holy and mighty as to draw lines on land, steal and pillage from others, and suggest only a select few are deserving of food, shelter, water and love in abundance.
But Mother Earth is speaking up on her own behalf, isn't she?
Fortunately my fog is lifting. I'm getting lighter as I begin alchemizing this experience. Finding my center again. Rising above. Moving back into the vibrational frequency of light of which I am able to provide and anchor onto this Earth.
I am more clear than ever about my mission as an Intuitive Healer. Which is to empower women into deep sovereignty and bring back the wisdom of our ancestors, both land, spirit and human. To remember our gifts as healers, midwives, sage advisors, connectors to the Earth and her medicines, as well as to the spirit world and all its splendor.
While we don't need only a matriarchy vs. a patriarchy, we do need women to step back into their deepest wisdom and divine essence, and we need men to heal their ego wounds, and we need the wisdom and experience of all humans living anywhere on the spectrum of humanness.
I'm emerging day by day from the darkness. More sure than ever of my role.
But this process is not just for me but for the collective. I am a witness to humanity’s wounds, and I bring them into the light so we can heal together.
So how can you be empowered during this time of division and disillusion?
The Power of Feeling to Heal
I reject the notion that to live a spiritual life, we must rise above and separate ourselves from pain. True healing requires us to embody the full spectrum of the human experience—mind, body, and spirit. Yes, it’s uncomfortable, and yes, it takes courage, but this is how we access the wisdom that lives in our bones.
Feel it to heal it. No bypassing. No rushing.
Explore the shadows. Acknowledge my own judgments and biases.
Sit with discomfort. Find the lessons hidden in the pain.
The Role of Sovereignty in Co-Creation
What these last few days have taught me is that sovereignty is non-negotiable. Sovereignty doesn’t mean living in isolation or disconnection. It means being so rooted in your truth that external circumstances cannot shake your foundation.
This is the work I do with women—empowering them to claim their sovereignty and remember their divine essence. But this is work for all of us.
For women, it’s about reclaiming our ancestral wisdom, our connection to Earth and Spirit, and our ability to create and nurture.
For men, it’s about healing the wounds of the ego and stepping into partnership, not dominance.
For everyone, it’s about dismantling systems that seek to divide us and returning to the truth that we are all interconnected.
A Vision of Unity
This moment in history is calling us to step into a new paradigm. It’s not about replacing patriarchy with matriarchy. It’s about creating a world where all beings are honored, where Earth’s gifts are shared freely, and where no one is left behind.
But to get there, we must do the inner work. We must examine where we are complicit, where we are chained to outdated beliefs, and where we are allowing fear to rule our choices.
This is my commitment:
To hold space for healing..
To empower others to find their light, even in the darkest of times.
To embody the wisdom of the ancestors and share it with those ready to listen.
Moving Forward with Purpose
I am emerging from this darkness with a renewed sense of purpose. The fog has lifted, and the path before me is clear. My role is to anchor light on this Earth, to hold the vibration of healing and empowerment, and to guide others back to themselves.
We are in this together. And while the road may be difficult, I trust that every shadow holds the seeds of transformation.
It is time to rise.
It is time to heal.
It is time to create a new way of being—together.
